Harmony House offers a full spectrum of rehabilitative and skilled nursing services focusing on brain injury, ventilator/respiratory dependency care. Our staff can meet the specials needs of the intellectually disabled by providing an active treatment environment. Each of these specialty units occupies a unique, separate location on our Waterloo campus. We boast a nationally recognized horticultural therapy program in our 3000 square foot greenhouse. Our aquatics therapy program has exclusive access to our indoor, heated pool. Serving a younger population, we strive to provide a wide-range of community based activities. Step-By-Step Brain Injury Rehabilitation
Steps programming is a regional partner in the state-of-the-art treatment of traumatic brain injury. Servicing a younger population, Steps provides active rehabilitation programming with the goal of getting individuals back to community based living. Highly specialized treatment plans are tailored to the individual resident's unique needs utilizing physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cognitive therapy, horticultural therapy and aquatics therapy. Our unmatched continuum of care concentrates on independent mobility, strength/endurance and an interactive lifestyle. Ventilator Program
Ventilator dependent individuals require a specialized team of experts to manage their care. Our regionally recognized respiratory therapy staff centers around the individual's ultimate goal, whether that be weaning from the vent, going home on a vent, or long-term skilled vent care. Our respiratory therapists work hand-in-hand with our consulting pulmonologist to ensure maximum potential is achieved. We are committed to compassionate care and support of those residents who are challenged by this medical condition.
Intellectual Disability Residential Care
Harmony House offers compassionate, quality care for your loved one with intellectual disabilities. We believe in a family, nurturing setting valuing the unique behaviors and individuality of each resident. We are proud to provide specialty enrichment programs addressing communication, sensory motor and cognitive skills. Our professionally trained staff works with residents to meet their needs for sensory based stimulation. Harmony House has a custom designed sensory room where residents receive one-on-one sessions. Visual, auditory, tactile and multimedia stimulation allows for program variety.
