Shoppers searching the Internet for health insurance coverage can be forgiven if they are confused. A New York woman waiting to speak to an official Obamacare navigator the other day told me she decided to ask for help because she couldn’t understand the policies on the website of the New York exchange. We strongly recommend that you print this out and take a copy of this checklist to each nursing home you visit. This serves as a great reminder for the important questions to ask regarding resident life, nursing home living spaces, staff, residents’ rooms, hallways, stairs, lounges, bathrooms, menus and food, activities, safety, and care.
